GENERAL RULES
These are the general rules of The Crossroads. All of them need to be complied with in order to keep everyone happy and this place thriving.
1. R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Learn it, have it, use it. This should be a given. Be respectful to the admins, moderators, and your fellow members. If you do not get along with someone then simply ignore them and do not do business with them, it is as simple as that. There is no need for disputes on the board. Take them off the forum or into a private message. Be fair to one another as well. If you don't like someone's art or pets, you don't have to adopt them. Treat others as you wish to be treated.
2. The Crossroads is open to all members thirteen years of age and older. This is the proboards ruling for age and thus one we must also follow. It is also a good age to deem whether or not a member is mature enough or not.
3. No extreme profanity or swearing please. We all have bad days where we need to vent, and this is fine, just don't go overboard.
4. Chatspeak, webspeak, and leetspeak will absolutely not be tolerated. Nor will posting in all caps or sticky caps excessively.
5. As always, follow good 'cyberpet etiquette'. Page your pets in a decent amount of time, use your own ideas, don't claim someone else's pets as yours, etc.
6. Topics absolutely not allowed on the forum are these: Race, Religion, Medical Diagnosing, Sex, Drugs, Illegal Activities, Politics, Suicide, Pornography.
7. If you disagree or want opinions, hold a debate, don't argue, cuss in capital letters, or throw a fit. Explain your side and allow them to do the same and see if you can see it from their point of view. All members are expected to be mature about disagreements.
8. Harassment will get you banned. Not only is it rude, it's annoying. Don't harass anyone to create you a special pet, hold a sale just because you want a pet, demand breedings, etc. Be patient.
9. Cheating will get you banned. If you cheat and say you have more Crossroads coins than you have (and transactions lists -will- be monitored regularly) you'll be out for good. Everyone is expected to play fairly.
10. No artwork/pets should ever be posted anywhere other than your website/the forum unless you have permission from the creator to do so.
11. No trolling or spamming. This will get you warned or banned. Please don't be annoying.
12. Please post topics in the appropriate forum. They are all clearly labeled for this reason.
13. You are only allowed ONE account on the board. All your pets/art should be sold under that account.
14. Your board account should be the name you wish to go by on the board. Example: If you wish to be called 'Amber' then don't put your name as 'Flower435'.
15. Concerns regarding unfulfilled trades, commissions, orders, etc can be taken up with a mod or admin by private message. Art theft concerns should be posted in the appropriate board.
16. The Crossroads is NOT a virtual pet website. It is -not- PonyIsland, Secundi, Neopets, Felisfire, etc. This is a forum-based cyberpet adoption game only.
17. All pets being adopted out at the Crossroads should never be adopted out on other websites. This includes PI, Secundi, NP, etc.
18. Pets are -not- allowed to be sold for PI currency, Neopoints, Secundi gold, or any other game currency.
ART RULES:
1. All artwork must be your own unless you have expressed permission from the original creator, this will be checked. If you are caught using art that is not yours and you do not have permission you will get warned or potentially banned.
2. You may use 'free lineart' to create adoptables so long as there is proof that the lineart is indeed free to use and you credit the original author.
3. All art must be pg-13 or below in nature. 'Furries'/Anthros must have chest/crotch areas covered with clothing or fur.
4. Try to be unique in your ideas! We know it's hard to come up with something original, just don't blatantly copy anyone. It's just rude.
ADOPTING RULES
1. All pets must be on a website. This is non-negotiable. No neopets, homestead, forum posts, or PI presentations. Websites only. The reason being is if one of these sites has something mess up, then you lose all your pets/records. And it's too hard to keep an accurate parents list of critters when they are spread over ten different virtual pet and other kinds of webpages. A good place to set up a free website is webs.com or angelfire.
2. Please know at least beginner HTML. Pagebuilders are nothing but a pain in the butt for everyone. If you need HTML help try LissaExplains.com
3. Do not take pets/art/images that do not belong to you and put them on your website. That is theft and it will get you banned/blacklisted.
4. Do not alter any pet images ever unless they are your own work or you have expressed permission from the creator.
5. Never claim any art to be yours if it is not or was not created by you.
6. Never adopt out any pets you have adopted from the Crossroads, here or anywhere else.
7. Always give credit! Credit the author, adopter, etc with a link back.
8. If you do not follow an adopter's rules and they take your pet back, or if you abandon a pet and it is resold do not come whining. It's your own fault.
ROLEPLAYING RULES:
1. No 'God-Moding' or 'Power-Playing'.
2. Do not post as characters/pets that are not yours.
3. Please post in the forum that best represents your roleplaying ability.
4. Breedings may be roleplayed but not in a graphic way.
5. Do not use chatspeak, webspeak, leetspeak, sticky caps, or caps lock to roleplay.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Failure to follow any of the rules may get you warned, your posts deleted, or get you banned for a period of time.
